Cool 4 dark0n3

i'll only reply to developer team part you said, because other things you said understandable, make perfect sense and i got nothing to say about em :/
I dont have time for this myself, but one of my IRC buddies is
really good coder,he's interested in coding/scripting in tcl/C/C++
Raiden home page has quite a few links to his home page and his scripts he made for raiden, such as trial script or quota script...
I told him few months ago to contact you to offer some help
because he was like lazy bum at that point, spending lots of time online. So he tried, but had a problem tracking you down on IRC.
So if you would accept some help (not saying that you need any)
and pm me how to find you - i'd be happy to send the guy to you.
He's not interested in any author rights or any other copy right stuff, just likes to code and is interested in ioftpd development
because ive taught him so :P

GUI, nah... I dont think its needed even. ioFTPD is nice the way it is, with regular config files, site commands, and telnet. Nice and lightweight the way it is.

I vote for NO gui, or maybe a seperate version with gui.

Much improved httpd is coming in the next version That's as far as we go, when it comes to built-in GUI

bandwith graph?
kick connection button?

I also can't see a convincing argument for a GUI. I'm not a programmer, but thats a quite simple thing: The more code, the more errors/bugs.
ioFTPD is now in such a nice stable state that it would be a waste to develop a GUI now. Would just lead to new bugs, which have to be bugfixed, and new bugfixes produce new bugs again :P

ioFTPD is highly customizable without a GUI. When the http daemon is ready, the last reason for a GUI is gone.
The people who are not yet expierienced with ioFTPD can simply manage the most important functions of the ftpd by web interface.

And people who wanna customize their ioFTPD with zipscripts and such stuff, won't even want a GUI because that would a help a shit in that case. In fact a GUI is for noobs. But ioFTPD isnt.

Well e simple 'gui' kinda like a monitor is ok. But no editing on the ini files, thats too much work to keep updated. A monitor isnt that hard and that part of io doesnt change all that much. (I hope)

Question 4 darkone

you are saying new improved version with httpd is out,
each time i have to upgrade my ioFTPD (and since its developing rather rapidly we all do it often) im wondering which files exactly do i need to replace and what else to do to make upgrade successful. So,id like to ask would it be possible to implement some sort of upgrade wizard or at least make a txt file with instructions how to upgrade from previous versions so we wont have to look up for the upgrade info, which files to replace, each time people need to upgrade.
Thnx ahead

exactly. most of the times it's just the ini and the exe.
if that doesn't work you also might have to overwrite/extract some other file(s).
but still - how much time can reading the changelog/readme take?

if you don't want to invest 10 minutes then really you might want to switch the ftpd

- this is a hard one to please all...

But I use IOMONITOR to simply do a site who every 200,000 ms when I want to monitor the site - does what I need as I edited
the cmd buttons to suit my needs.

Anyways...

If you are and when you do take on a new project it works better than most others I use...so...

For me - per user online info

total time on
bw used as in\out
currently doing up\dn\idle

ex: user \ 24:20 \ 34K \ up of whateverfile

^ your basic site who info

Per the SYSOPS end for a few cmd buttons

NEW dirs - value set ex: 100
ADD USER account
KILL USER account
KICK user
External script run - ex: run off VFSLISTER

and the basic OPEN cmd line option so we can do what cmd we want...is a must item!

Simple is best

But if you are going for the GUI people, features are what they are looking for as too many have been raiden spolied...
