Default virtual file system

Hi guys

Ive been browsing around and im still unsure i have 3 harddrives with identical folders and i want them to be added so the user only see them as one but i dont want to do physical raid.

I understood you can do a virtual file system:

d:\dir1 /dir
e:\dir2 /dir
f:\dir3 /dir

But how does it work if say a user uploads a file that is to big to be fitted on the existing folder, or can you risk an uploaded folder is spread over to directories ?

Hope you can help me with the setup

Kind regards
