Default Import SmartFTP Sites?

I searched the forum and could not find this one anywhere.

Would it be possible to import SmartFTP sites any time in the near future?

SmartFTP is pretty popular as a free FTP client (as I'm sure you're aware), and being able to import sites into FlashFXP may help those who are considering "making the switch" along, and would certainly be more convenient for those of us who currently use both clients

That's very unlikely, smart ftp uses a binary site list format, I would need to know the complete stucture.

Jay, does SmartFTP have an export function so that you can export the sites to text format ?

If so you may end up doing that, then importing to FlashFXP that way.

Sorry, I dont use SmartFTP

I'm willing to take a stab at breaking the binary structure. For a simple client like that, it cant be too hard. Who wants to fabricate a site list and send it to me?

Ok, done some poking around, and found Export under Favorites -> Edit Favorites -> Tools -> Export

It exports them to a text file, in the Text1 format ftp://user:pass@domain/

BUT, when I attempt to import them using the Text1 format, it tells me that 1 site is imported (there are several), but that 1 site is gibberish.

Screenshot of the imported garbage site attached.

The exported text file is unicode, you need to open it in a text editor and re-save it as pain text.

I've saved them all manually by reading the exported file in wordpad.

Thanks, didn't mean for this to turn into a support topic
