Question Ascii subclass parameter

I'm getting this message, seen below, when I connect to a friends ftp server. I'm wondering what this non-print business is, and how I define a subclass parameter.

200 Type is ASCII (No subclass parameter defined, Non-Print used as default.)

LOL ok.

I'm wondering because he is the only server that I connect to that has no print transfers. All the others just open ascii connection and that is it. I was wondering if it is something that he has set on his server, or if it is in flash somewhere that it is set.
