I don't know why you would get that error. Do you have this problem if you use a different ftp client on this ftp server?

Default 426 Connection closed , transfer aborted (transfer failed).(exception)

I did a search for this "426 Connection closed , transfer aborted (transfer failed).(exception)" and it pulled up this thread, with next to nothing in it. My downloads get stuck all the time. Certain one's won't resume at all- others just keep resuming and the connection closes and it goes over and over. If someone can help I'd appreciate it.

I'm runnin xp. I connect to many different servers and this happens with almost everytype out there. I'm using 1.4.4

Also- I did do a search, so please, don't just reply with the "search before you ask" default webpage as is with most questions.

Hi !
Here's what I did to solve my problem. It has to do with Path MTU. Read this thread, it explains it all !

That's a very interesting thread, I think anyone having connection problems should read about adjusting your MTU. I have never messed with this value but it seems very interesting.

I think adjusting the MTU might solve many of the problems people have reported on here.

Thanks for letting us know about it.

I just found this very interesting FAQ on dslreports regarding MTU
http://www.dslreports.com/faq/695

--cut--
For PPPoE, your MaxMTU should be no more than 1492, to allow space for the 8 byte PPPoE "wrapper", but again,
experiment to find the optimal value.. For PPPoE, the stakes are high: if you get MTU wrong, you may not just be sub-optimal, things like UPLOADING, or web pages, may stall, or not work at all!
--cut--

I wonder if this could explain the slow upload speeds some users have reported..

TCP/IP Analyser and TCP/IP Optimizer
both of these links are 3rd party and obviously we don't provide support on that. use at your own risk
