Cool simply.......cant fxp!! :)

I am currently using version 1.40 of flashfxp with winxp & nortons anti-virus prog & I can no longer xfer files from site to site.
I can download & upload quite normally but cannot fxp no matter what I try!!
I have tried passive & non-passive modes & applied every option that is available...... but get the same result:

STOR hsst.001
150 Opening data connection for hsst.001.
RETR hsst.001
425 Cannot open data connection (10060).
ABOR
Transfer Failed!

I woul really appreciate some advice!

Enable or disable passive mode in Options.
Also note that some servers block FTP_bounce, and as a result, refuse fxp transfers.

are you using WinXP's builtin firewall?

I have tried both passive & non passive modes with the same results.........failure! lol
& yes... MxxCon..... I have tried the alternative u/l & d/l methods & I am using the winxp firewall. Do you think the firewall is the problem??

try..if disabling firewall will fix your problem then you know it's something to do w/ your firewall rules.

If FlashFXP doesn't work surely something else isn't going to. The FXP protocol works exactly the same no matter what client you use.

Cool

lol bigstar......I wasn't knocking flashfxp & I realise the protocol must be the same but I have assumed that it has to be a conflict between my pc & the program so I am just gonna try another to see if it would be compatible!
It seems strange that it will work for some & not others in similar circumstances so I am totally baffled by the whole thing!!

wobbles et al, I've used every build since 7-something on WinXP. Only once did I exhibit similar behaviour as described here, and found it was related to the TCP/IP setup on the machine.

ok, what could be the reason

my m8 has same xp, same flash, same isp,
using same sites

so,

difference is i have 2 users on my local network, but it worked
on some sites, some not

after installing zonealarm on my pc, nothing worked at all
anymore (its on my m8 pc too !!!!)

after deinstalling it stays the same, no more site to site at all
so, tryed different flashes now but all the same.

Are you saying your friend does not have any of these problems? If yes, then you've answered it yourself; in that case it has to be the setup. Do you have dual-boot on the machine? Did you keep the C partition? What differences, if any, can you list between yours and that of your friend?

there are differences in setup

im using 2 users on xp ---- 1 user

im have only drive c ---- hd is partit. but flash also drive c

thats all

for some reason i can transfer now from some (only some)
sites to some again, without changing any setup !!!!

meanwhile still all worked at my m8 place.

thats all the differences
