I'm not quite sure what's causing the problem, I tested on two separate XP SP3 machines and I can't reproduce it.
I went as far as testing "HMA! Pro VPN" with FlashFXP and it appears to work without any issues at all. I noticed that HMA has a diagnostics feature in the dashboard > connection log, perhaps this might shed some light on it? It outputs a ton of very handy winsock information.
Does this issue only occur when checking for an update?
What about when you check for a language translation update?

Filter (skip list) such as[*] - (*) -[*] does not fit for folder [ftp] - ( 1101M 24F - COMPLETE ) - [ftp].
Queue list sort by name is kind of backwards now?

Only for an update.
Also only if you fast click Help and then Check for Update.
Language download needs too many clicks to perform it fast.
Probably issue with VMWare 7.1.4.385536, but can't uninstall due to need of work.
Diagnostics shows:

Starting with 4.0 the [ character is a special character that must be escaped with a \ so you'd need to use \[*] - (*) -\[*]
There does appear to be an issue with the queue list sort being reversed.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, it will be addressed in the next build.

Can you please try to reproduce this issue with 4.0 portable, that way we can determine if this is a new pre-existing issue.

Tried with 1629 Portable, couldn't reproduce it so far (sadly also doesn't happen everytime when I'm fast).

In 1628 if I queue files they don't become grey'd out until I move the mouse over them.

Oh, and stat/list are timing out after 30 seconds instead of the old 2 minutes. I remember you tweaking the delay with site commands, but any way to go back to the old 2 minutes for listings or apply the restart transfer in no data to stat/list? It can easily take a minute or two to enter a directory and 30 seconds is probably too short in my opinion.

Update: The queued file graying issue appears to only happen when you queue a file while a transfer is taking place, or when selecting multiple items at a time.

Can you please type netsh interface tcp dump global and show me the result.
The only thing I can think of off hand would be to try
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=highlyrestricted
If you can think of a public ftp server with high latency I would be more than happy to dig deeper into this issue, perhaps there's more that can be done client side.
|
sorry to reply late.
Code:
# ----------------------------------
# TCP Configuration
# ----------------------------------
pushd interface tcp
reset
set global rss=enabled chimney=automatic autotuninglevel=normal congestionprovider=ctcp ecncapability=disabled timestamps=enabled netdma=disabled dca=disabled
popd
# End of TCP configuration
for different values on tcp buffer size i will wait for the cross-pacific fiber freed before futher tests. under heavy time period no matter how i tune the parameters the speed doesn't go up.
if you are in the u.s i can provide you a server in china, which should produce enough latancy to test.
regards

Hi All.
I am having a similar crash issue on my Windows 7 machine.
Here is what I am doing to reproduce:
1 - Open FFXP
2 - Help>Check for new version
After that the program crashes. Please see the screen grab below:
Here is the event log from windows:
Faulting application name: FlashFXP.exe, version: 4.1.0.1629, time stamp: 0x2a425e19
Faulting module name: ws2_32.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7ba68
Exception code: 0xc0000409
I did notice that if I wait a few minutes after opening FFXP, it does not crash. Also this is not happening on my XP Pro machine.
My setup and installation information is in my signature below.
Please let me know if you need anything else from me.
Thanks!

bigstar, please add the string "can't resolve hostname to IP address" to translation editor, thank you.
Same for "Already up to date" and "There is no upgrade available at this time."

It would appear that my http component is using the wrong text, it should be using the text from the translations "Unable to resolve host", I will correct this for the next release.
The text that is shown within the Live Update window comes from our web server, At the moment we do not have a way to offer translations of this text, FlashFXP would need to tell the server which language its using in order to provide a translated reply.
Perhaps this is something we can provide down the road.

I just updated and noticed the new whatsnew.rtf entry in the Help menu. I'm glad to see it (thanks!), though I have two comments:
First, to avoid user confusion (and keep it all looking sharp) I'd name that menu entry "Version History" or "Release Notes", since there's already a "What's New.rtf" file in the program dir that's quite different.
Second (this is just a thought), it's be useful if this came up in a dialog rather than an external editor, for consistency (pretty much reusing the same dialog we see when there's an update available). Again, just a thought.
Thanks again for resolving my request!
