Default FlashFXP 4.1 RC 1 build 1615

FlashFXP 4.1 RC 1 build 1615
  1. Changed > FTP Protocol > AUTH SSL command to use SSLv23, previous builds used TLS. This resolves a compatibility issue that prevented FlashFXP from connecting to some DrFTPD or ioFTPD servers that do not support TLS.
  2. Optimized several string routines used in FlashFXP, these routines show an average speed increase of over 30% when compared to the previous build.
  3. Added the ability to use the ESCape key to close liveupdate dialog.

Please download the update via LiveUpdate

With Build 1615, when I either map a drive to Z: to my server or just call it directly up via the \\servername\share I'm missing files.

If I use the Windows Explorer to navigate to the Z: drive or the \\servername\share subdirectory the files are there.

If I FTP to the server where I have the Z: mounted to, all of the files are there (they're the same files).

The local browser doesn't seem to be showing all of my files for some reason?

Windows 7, FlashFXP Build 1615.

Are they hidden? Do you have FlashFXP configured to show hidden files?
Options > Preferences > Interface > File Browser > Show Hidden Files

Is it the same files/folders missing every time?

They're not hidden files and I have the preference to Show Hidden Files.

Well....I have 2 folders that I know that look like they're "broken" this way but I haven't checked every folder to verify.

The files within those 2 folders that are missing missing files seem to be the same ones every time I open up FlashFXP if that is what you're asking.

They show up fine if I use FlashFXP to connect via FTP to that same server or if I just use the Windows Explorer.

Is there anything special about these missing files?

Do the filenames contain special characters?

Did these files show up correctly in 4.0 or previous 4.1 beta releases?

Here's an example:

Shows:
101 - Top Gear - HDTV.avi
103 - Top Gear - HDTV.avi

Doesn't Show:
102 - Top Gear - HDTV.avi

It doesn't appear to be anything special. It was working fine as of last week. I just noticed it this week when watching old episodes. It is possible it was broken earlier and I didn't notice it earlier.

ETA: Those are examples, there's a LOT of missing files in that directory. It's showing maybe 20% of the files that are really there. I have other directories named in a similar manner that doesn't have a problem, etc. Generally, its named for season/episode - nameofshow - HDTV or not.avi that I recorded and transferred.

Would it be possible to test v4.0 or some of the previous 4.1 beta releases?

The easiest way would probably to test using the portable versions.

I have not been able to reproduce this unusual issue.

I don't usually play with the portable versions but I can easily use that and run through several versions, etc.

[R] PASS (hidden)
[R] Connection failed (Connection closed by server)

what the hell? happens on all sources. funny aint.

ah i love updates

EDIT: happens on all sources you have with AUTH_TLS , sources with AUTH_SSL connect fine like in 1614 ,

Did you read the changelog? Perhaps I didn't explain the change clear enough. If you previously had a site configured to use AUTH SSL and the site requires TLS then you need to select AUTH TLS. If you're connecting to a site using AUTH TLS then it will continue to work as-is, as nothing has changed with this configuration.

When you provide session status messages it would be extremely helpful to include more of the text.

I highly suspect that this is just a configuration issue due to the change in the new build.

Hi.

FlashFXP tells me that there is an update, and downloads the file FlashFXP41_1615_Setup.exe.

However after the update FlashFXP still says build 1614, and tells me again that there is an update.

well without any changing from 1614 -> 1615 in some source config, i wonder why all AUTH_TLS sources arent working anymore. as you write "if connect to a site using auth_tls then it will continue".. <- no it doesnt continue to work.

changing "this" auth_TLS config to auth-ssl also gives error. well the status msg's arent giving much results. but i will just re-try let's see

Oh what the hell. i changed back from 1614 -> 1615 this time without internal updater, i used the previously downloaded .exe to update.

i think im not the only one wondering why connecting is getting corrupt. just to say again:

those sources had AUTH_TLS , and i wasnt able to connect. AUTH_SSL kept working fine.

well nevermind, im happy that it's finally working without any changing from side. let's call mulder/scully, the x-files !

So I'm not sure what happened now but its working?

I went back to 4.0 to see if the missing file problem was there. It wasn't so I randomly installed versions leading up to 1615 to see if I could see the problem. I couldn't, all of them worked up until 1614. I then installed 1615 to verify the problem was there...except it wasn't anymore?

I guess the re-installation of something fixed my missing files issue . On the flipside, my video launching stuff wasn't fixed .

Sorry for the false alarm, but very odd.
