unknown error while generating new reg key

Hi, I formatted and installed the 4.0RC2 beta and saw that I needed a new reg key, but when it tried to create one I received an "Unknown error"

I'm using Windows 7 x64.

I also didn't see an option in the setup process to specify the options dir... I save my settongs on an external HD. Is it still possible to configure this setting?

Are the Build 1485 you download and installed?
1: You need go to www.flashfxp.com log in.
2: Go to portal, then go to Registration Key(s), and here you can get your new version 4 key.
3: Your last question, i let bigstar answer.

When I do that, for the 4.0 key I just see "License key not generated, Enter your v3.6 key into FlashFXP v4.0"

Please make sure you're connected to the internet and FlashFXP is allowed access in your firewall.

If you connect via a proxy please make sure your proxy configuration is setup in FlashFXP.

Which specific build of v4.0 RC2 did you install?

You wont be able to retrieve your key via the customer portal until its generated, the only way it can currently be generated is via FlashFXP performing the key upgrade.

During installation you need to select custom installation to select a non-standard data folder location.

1: Yes you can choose option wher you wont to instlled it, you have:
Select Setup Type
Here you have Typical and Custom, you shall use custom here.
Custom: You may choose frome this options you want to install, select custom data location as well as migrate existing data. Recommended for advanced users Only.

So here was the answer for your question, so i guees you mist out this when you installed flashfxp.

Thanks for the help - I thought I had disabled my firewall but apparently not... gave that a shot and that did the trick w/ registering the 4.0 key.

Re: the custom data/settings directory - I DID choose a custom install, but I had selected to install for my current user account as opposed to all user accounts, so I re-installed selecting "All user accounts" and that did the trick.
