Default Q: How to connect 2 FTP using proxies

the company im workin for blocks all ports except 80.
now i like to connect 2 FTP on port 21. Result: connection refused.

what type of proxies do i have 2 use in order to successfully connect 2 FTP sites on different ports and which preferences have to be made?

sorry if this question has benn asked be4 - i tried to use the search engine but had no helpful results.

additionally i just realized that i'm incapable of connecting to irc or using IMs like Trillian or ICQ...

any suggestions?

well, 1st thing i would recommend to talk to sysadmin. they might be able to provide you with needed info.
if they are blocking all ports, it's prolly for a reason and you wouldn't want to lose your job just so you can d/l a picture.
find out if your company has internal proxy you can use, or find a public HTTP proxy that is running on port 80...

icq, aim, trillian all use ports other than 80, but can also be configured to use http proxy.

Since this has nothing to do with FlashFXP, I wonder if you can get a proper reply. Ask your system administrator. Otherwise, setup a port forwarder and/or bnc up at home on port 80.



What you need as a proxy, is an open proxy on port 80 that also allows you to use ftp protocol. GOod Luck
