Default High port #'s = FFXP running like crap

thought i was having a problem with raidenftpd.....

after some checking, nope it's not raiden.

I run my ftp on a high port (xxxxx) and FFXP throttles the downloads to around 80K/sec or so.

i can change the port to lower # like (xxx) and poof....10, 11, 12 MBytes / second.

This behavior observed with the latest trial version of FFXP downloaded from this website.

Sounds like something to do with your internet connection.

FlashFXP doesn't care what port you use, it transfers at the same speed.

yeah except it's two boxes on the same 100mbit switch....

it's not an ISP or internet connection issue

Why not try a different ftp client then. If that doesn't help, you can be sure it's not flashfxp causing the problem.

using IE the throughput is about 5.5 MBytes / second.

using AceFTP, throughput is about 11 MBytes/sec

using good old command line ftp throughput is just over 11 MBytes/second...

if you are using a key you "found" on the web.....

does flash perhaps dump some stuff in the registry to throttle your speeds....

If you're using a modified version of FlashFXP anything is possible. If this is the case delete your FlashFXP folder and download FlashFXP directly from our website. That will resolve any problems.

I said delete the FlashFXP folder, Uninstalling FlashFXP does not remove all of the files. In this case it wont have any effect. You need to delete all of the files.

well unfortunately I'm out of ideas. Guess you'll have to use one of the other ftp clients.
