Q: I installed the latest version of FlashFXP but I cannot use it. When I enter my registration key it shows pop up with following message:
"File Permission Denied"
C:\Program Files\FlashFXP\flashfxp.key
What should I do now? I use VISTA
A: Most users upgrading from v3.4 to v3.6 RC3 or newer shouldn't have this problem. However if you used any intermediate installers you may encounter this problem because originally we had the default data folder as the program installation folder.
The problem however is that on Windows Vista normal users do not have write permission to this location. Windows Vista requires that you store application data in the application data folder. If you want to keep your data files in the FlashFXP program folder the only way to do this is to re-configure your folder permissions and give your user account write access to the folder.
Below is a demo that shows a custom installation where the data folder was C:\Program Files\FlashFXP and it is changed to use the application data folder.
