Default Connection failed 10050: Network is down

Hii have this problem, i cant connect to my ftp anymore. I get this error,

Connection failed (10050: Network is down)

it's never happened before, and i know for a fact that the problem is on my side. I cannot use remote desktop anymore too, also other programs like FlashGet, basically anything that involves downloading with sockets i think.

Does anyone know how i could fix this? It first started with flashfxp then i realised that other programs aren't working also..

Windows XP SP2
1GB Ram
250GB HD
1.6GHz P4

I am on dialup.

look into software/guides how to repair your tcp/ip and/or winsock. it might have something to do with this.
