File Assocations... options->file assoc. does not work

I add a bunch of extensions like html, php, css, etc and then change the editor to either internal or notepad++ and it never will open the file in the correct editor. If I hit edit it opens in word 2003 and if I hit view it opens in web browser even though I have set view and edit to open in editor. I have tried adding extensions in this format: html, php, etc and in this format: .html, .php, .etc

tried restarting flashfxp etc etc it keep just opening the files.
