Default Flash 5 5.0.0 build 3771 remote browser window shows as connected after idle timeout

Hi,

Just trying the new release of FlashFXP5 and have noticed that after an idle timeout the remote browser window still has the file/folder list viewable even though the connection has been lost. The only way you can clear it is to press the disconnect button, which seems a little odd as the connection has been lost?

This didn't happen on version 4 and all connection information would be gone when an idle timeout occurs.

Is this a bug or a feature of the new version?

This is the intended behavior, we call it offline browsing, the content is available to browse even after a connection has timed out.

In v4.x this behavior was limited to sites where the folder caching setting was turned on.

In v5.0 we adapted the offline browsing to work even when folder caching is turned off since the current folder information is still available.

A common scenario we see time and time again; is while the user is looking through a long directory listing the connection idle times out, the file listing is cleared and they loose their place, now they must manually reconnect and try to find their place again, and on idle timeout the process repeats. on slow connections and sites with very low idle timeouts this is quite painful.

Thank you very much for your detailed and helpful reply. Is it possible to disable this feature in the options somewhere?
