when remote macusers try to connect to my io with captain ftp
no matter what transfer mode they choose (asci, binary, macbinary)
its timing out without any error message.

when mac connects to my bullet proof ftp server, it shows : MACB ENABLE - command not understood, but that seems to be no problem, the connection and the datatransfer works.

im not sure if its the macb enable command, but thats the only difference i could see when osx users try to connect.

strange about the whole thing is that its no problem to conect from mac to io in the lan, it takes a bit longer than with flash fxp, but its working.

Connection to remote io sites using Yummy FTP on Mac OS X all the time. No problem.
I tried Transmit too. Works fine.
Didn't try CaptainFTP since a very long time. Was very ugly back then.

got the same problem. i tried fetch, transmit, captain and yummy and none of them work with my ioftpd. i also tried ncftp for mac os x, a terminal ftp client but it always stucks after login (listing directory is timed out)....

the data transfer ports of my ioftpd.ini are set to a single port, does this cause the trouble? accessing the ftp from the local network works fine...
and with a windows client (flash fxp) everything is fine, too.
do i need to increase the data transfer ports and forward another port in the router ?

any help is greatly appreciated......

This sounds like a possible NAT problem - FlashFXP tries to be clever and can workaround some badly configured sites... other, more normal, ftp clients tend to assume ftp server is configured correctly.

Check how PASV response looks like - it should have server's external IP address, not internal one.

Just a FYI.
I requested 3 little features when I licensed my copy of Yummy FTP 2 weeks ago, and I just received a personal email from the developer telling me a new version with all of my suggestions was released! Pretty cool.

Hi Guillaume,

Just to let you know, we released Yummy FTP 1.0.4 yesterday which includes three new
options you suggested:

NOOP to keep connections alive
Synchronize by file size
Keyboard navigation

Hope that helps.

Best regards,
Jason
