that has nothing to do with ioShareDB

08-04-2004 23:35:19 ioShareDB: error unregister user
08-04-2004 23:41:30 ioShareDB: error unregister user
08-04-2004 23:42:34 ioShareDB: error updating user
08-04-2004 23:45:08 ioShareDB: error unregister user

and that has to do with that u have some error in useridtable

Any suggestions what i can do ?

Can i replace userid table and groupid table with default ones or leave them empty .... I think they are populated when ftp starts ... he downloads and populates them from DB i think.. but maybe im wrong ?

The thing is if i used the same userid table and groupid table from ftp on which iosharedb works without errors the ftp still crashes with same errors as stated above....

Any other suggestions... and thanx for explaining what the error`s are it will help me in future solving of problems.

Just overwrite with the 'default' one containing only the lines that's connected to the users in /users and as u say io will update the UserIdTable after doing 'site restart'. always keep a spare UserIdTable which u can overwrite the corrupt one with to solve it easy and fast

Hmm i overwrited with default ones but guess what still same error, then left in user table and group table just the ones i have in users and groups ... i mean localy ... the ioftpd transfered the others from DB but then still ioftpd crashes... and the crashes ocures right hmmm let me give an example...

I have user created localy -> transfering files ok ioftpd doesnt crash

User created in DB and userfile not saved localy -> io crashes but when first file is transfered ok .. first the transfer starts then ioftpd stalls the user, and then in about 2 mins crashes and the error given is ioShareDB: error updating user ....

Is there any possibility that the ruter is blocking something .. dunno but just wild guesses cause i changed the system from WIN2003 to WINXP and still same and tried even the wildest imaginations of mine why this wouldnt work but always same error...

Well today i will try to connect the computer directly to modem without the ruter and computer will be running WIN XP then i will see if maybe ruter is causing problems .. but when i test the ODBC connection it`s everything ok and DB is ok ... well im giving all my thoughts here i hope if someone will have same problems will se this if i fix it :)

.... Im trying to solve this for about 4 days now :)

If ynone has some more suggestions give it cause im desperate

Can it be that your missing the user and group file on the STANDARD user (localy) that be in /USERS and /GROUPS

Well if somebody is interested i solved the problem after this few hard days of thinking :)

Gues what my most dark mind come true ... the ruter was fault...

now the computer is connected directl to internet and ioShareDB works flawless :)

finnaly i can go to sleep :)
