Hya everyone!
I was wondering if a per user disk quota script can be made.
To clarify, this what should look like:
[L] 230-User xxx has group access to: XXX
[L] 230-OK. Current restricted directory is /
[L] 230-x files used (0%) - authorized: xxxx files
[L] 230 xxx Kbytes used (x%) - authorized: xxxxx Kb
Now that would rock! :)
is it just me, does that make sense to anyone? :)

sounds like all those well known free hosting companies where u can sign up and get like 10 or 25mb free or so... makes sense if he's using ioFTPD to something like that, otherwise not.

Hey wooolF[RM], how did u guess it. It is true, id like to set my customers predefined limits they cannot cross.
This would make ioftpd much appetitive to people using it as a commercial server other than a warez one. All im saying it would be a huge bonus and make some companies use ioftpd :)

How strict would u like to enforce the quota ?
Say the quota is 25MB, and the guy got 10MB of files in his dir, and he starts uploading a 20MB file... Only when he's done we would see it's over the 25MB.
What would u do then ? Just wipe the 20MB file he just uploaded and tell him he was over-quota with it ?
Would be pretty easy to do...
Modify_Stats_On_Delete = true
And simply check ALLUP stats when a file is uploaded. If ALLUP > quota, then he's over quota. Otherwise, he's ok.
a 5 lines itcl would do it... a little more if u need exceptions...

Hey wooolF[RM], how did u guess it. I use one of those free services for some of my projects/stuff... example can be seen if u click on download link in my signature called ioFTPD Wallpaper.
There u can get free subdomain and 25mb with php/mysql for free.

Well the idea was such.
I meant to set 100 MB per user in his home directory, if he exceedes the limit the next uploaded file will be automatically deleted.
Awsome would be if the quota could be added sectionwise. E.g in one section usersquota can be bigger/smaller than in the other section.
Section Demos : user quota : 1000 mb
Section Samples : user quota : 500 mb
Imma try, but it seems easier to use M$ ftp service
This one tough nut to crack :(
