I did a little tool to translate ioFTPD website/documentation/knowledge base... Pick your language, and translate some strings when u got some free time...

URL always point to the first non-translated string... So if u go back later, you'll always be presented a new string to translate...

If you need the context of the strings, see http://www.ioftpd.com/documentation and http://www.ioftpd.com/kb
The strings are sequentially ordered... starting with left menu of website, then documentation index, then page 1, etc... then kb index, then kb 1st article, etc...

Make sure you use the vbb cookies if you want to get credits for your translations: User CP | Edit Options | Automatically login when you return to the site? (uses cookies).

If anyone want other languages added, just ask (reply here).

Those translations should be available during the upcoming week if all the strings gets translated...

Current translation progress:

http://www.ioftpd.com/?lang=fr

Use your favorite 2 chars lang code (see 1st post).

It place a cookie, so on your next visit, it will use the lang u specified the first time.

Slowly translating documentation. Should appear in your locale lang soon (if translation is avail...)

If you see any typo, report it here... say which lang, and give the before/after correction.

Thx again to everyone who's translating...

Characters with accents don't look nice in the french version of this page: http://www.ioftpd.com/documentation/06-sitecmds.php
It looks correct everywhere else.

Edit: It seems that the translation editor doesn't like UTF-8.

Mouton
02-09-2004, 04:01 PM
using utf-8 wasn't a good idea after all...
I'll fix.
thx.

The string 469 has been replaced by 468 (that appears twice now).

Edit:
The string 494 includes non interpreted html tags.
The string 506 doesn't appear.

The knowledge base articles' titles don't show up properly in the translation module when there's a quote in them.

Knowledge Base's articles don't show up properly when you try to read one of them. In fact, you can only see "Q:" and a few empty lines.

Edit: It looks like it was me and a cookies conflict. It works now.

Mouton
02-11-2004, 08:56 AM
yeah... i had a 5 as iolang too... wonder where that came from... anyway, added a is_numeric() check which puts the cookie back to eng...

Harm

I've just noticed another little thing: string 120 appears twice and the second one replaces string 121.

On http://www.ioftpd.com/kb/ for me (Swedish) the Swedish letters "å" "Å" ä" "Ä" "ö" and "ö" "Ö" does not show as they should, able to fix that ? :)

ex: "Jag kan inte ansluta till min sajt. Jag får upp "Connection failed (Connection refused)". Vad kan jag göra ?
"

should look like ->

"Jag kan inte ansluta till min sajt. Jag får upp "Connection failed (Connection refused)". Vad kan jag göra ?
"

and

"Q: Jag kan inte ansluta till min sajt. Jag får upp "Connection failed (Connection refused)". Vad kan jag göra ?

Försök detta, i ordning:

- Följ installationsanvisningarna noga. Läs dem <a href=\"/documentation/02-install.php\">här</a>.

- Se till att Hosts.Rules är korrekt konfigurerad. Se denna <a href=\"view.php?kbid=46\">kb länk</a>.

- I DOS, skriv: netstat -ano (eller netstat -an).

Mouton: the html tags aren't interpreted in the translated knowledge base.

The french translation is complete.

Mouton
02-13-2004, 12:05 PM
The right URL to edit your translations is:

http://www.ioftpd.com/documentation/edit_translate.php?lang=zh

with the right lang code.
This will select the right charset.

The Swedish translation is "almost" complete... There is only one tiny little problem that needs someone’s attention... ;)
Think that the ID is 70.
This sentience needs some change.
“Hur kan jag ändra & quot ;Transfer complete. & quot ; meddelandet ?”
But it should look like this,
“Hur kan jag ändra “Transfer complete.” meddelandet ?”

Think someone messed up the "“ hmmm… **moderated**

Anyway... When this has been corrected, the Swedish translation should be done…
”All strings translated. Thanks!”

I have started on the japanese, but haven't really done much as yet. I may have screwed up in places because I guessed the context incorrectly, but its a start...

ok... maybe it's a problem with my browser, but the charset for japanese is all screwed up. I think the saved values themselves are wrong, so the charset on the translation script page was probably wrong when I posted the values.

Can someone reset/ delete the japanese?
