Im looking for a script that can tell how many time a release is downloaded and site toplist of thouse downloaded releases. Is this even possible to do?

Ex:

donald_duck_-_What_Ever_The_Release_Is_Called was downloaded 34 times by 20 users or something... :)

There's already a tool to analyse the 'xferlog' file : Webalizer (http://www.mrunix.net/webalizer/newindex.html)

Cool, but i allso want it to announce in #channel and u can check them out in flashfxp.....

When do u consider a release was downloaded by 1 user ?
when all files from the dir were downloaded ? when only 1 file was downloaded ? etc.

A simple script that write username/rls name in a little .txt file + a little .itcl that would read it and count for each rls, and so on. Pretty simple to do.

Funneh thing is, such a script would slow down site since it would need to run on each RETR.

I actually wrote xferlog analyzer for glftpd, that does just that ;p I can pass the source code on to some programmer (it most likely requires some changes)
