for me is an good idea to make possible a linkage of various external ftp folders in vfs files.

for example:

#classic
"C:\folder" /folder1

#Virtually linked servers
"ftp://alternate.ftp.server.net:1234/pub/" /folder2

with this solution can be possible to multiply space and band of every ftp

(*excuse me for my english)

i asked d1 for such feature in februari or so.
He said it wasnt possible with ftp protocol..

Saw some crap on raiden page about virtual servers, dunno if that worx like i want (use bw of linked server instead of bouncing through main server) since i never tried it nor ever will. hehe

I tried it with raiden and it works.
It uses the bw of the linked server.
But raiden still sucks! :D

Would be a nice feature in io someday.

It works.. but isn't anything pretty (not compatible with all clients.. + afak, it uses once connection per client) If I ever was to add something similar, I'd use the PRET command... but this certainly isn't top priority item

Let's hope someone will code shared userdb thingy for ioftpd soon. Guess it will be easier when darkone has those modules ready. Shared userdb is atleast a step in the right direction when it comes to linking servers.

If you want a quick fix for this -

re: total overall storage space - USED\FREE, regardless of
where the drives are on any lan in your setup...

I don't have the url right now, but do a scan for "CSFV" and grab
the Serv_U tool, it runs in the backgound and creates a FILE
or DIR of - get it and see what it does, and all you do is turn
off all the other items...scans 3+ TB's in the blink of an eye!!!

If this is what you are looking for.
