View Full Version : Why not put all texts in /text/ftp

I'm suprisised how limited customization io have.
Why all his text inclusive SITE HELP (to be able add my custom site commands) or welcome tagline (instead of "220 ioFTPD [www:http://www.ioftpd.com] - [version: beta 4] server ready." i can change this text on all servers i know including serv-u, g6, raiden, etc... so why not on io?) aren't in text files?

And i'm still not find way how to show user home directory or vfs file (just for administrative needs), so how i can recognize what vfs file user/group use? I want it add to site uinfo <user>, but havn't lucky.

site who is pretty cutomizable already :)

1. ioFTPD is still beta.
2. There are more important things to focus on, stability and performance.

These features will most likely be added as ioFTPD continues to mature in development. :D

And I believe darkone already mentioned on adding the ablity to change the port banner.

I just put some things to muse and trying to say what i miss.

Just edit the ioftpd exewith a hex editor. But be aware that there is no help if you screw it up!! So keep the original. You have to know what you are doing.

Yes i know it. But thats not the right way to do it, i think :)
Why use resource editor or in the worse case hex editor if there can be simple text file.

Btw, i found help msgs. I just don't expect msg files in /help/ folder. Hehe....

Can wait to see beta 5 :rolleyes:
