Hi,

I have a problem.

My friend gave me a leech account, but he is getting very annoyed by the some messages he gets from me.

I am not 100 % sure its my client that is responsible.

But it does something like this:

SYST
[R] 215 UNIX Type: L8 , CP:1252
[R] FEAT
[R] 211-Extensions supported:
[R] SIZE
[R] MDTM
[R] MDTM YYYYMMDDHHMMSS filename
[R] LIST -laT
[R] STAT -laT
[R] MODE Z
[R] MLST type*;lang*;size*;modify*;create*;UNIX.mode*;UNIX. owner*;UNIX.group*;
[R] MLSD
[R] REST STREAM
[R] XCRC filename;start;end
[R] XMD5 filename;start;end
[R] TVFS
[R] CLNT client_type
[R] LANG EN;FR;JA;DE;IT;SV;ES;RU;ZH-TW;ZH-CN
[R] AUTH SSL
[R] AUTH TLS
[R] PROT
[R] PBSZ
[R] SSCN
[R] UTF8
[R] 211 END
[R] CLNT FlashFXP 3.0.1015
[R] 213 client type set to FlashFXP 3.0.1015.
[R] PWD
[R] 257 "/" is current directory

and a few seconds later this happens:

[R] TYPE I
[R] 200 Type set to IMAGE.
[R] Connection lost: *************
[R] Attempting to Reconnect.
[R] Connecting to ********** -> IP=**.**.**.** PORT=8121 (attempt # 1)

Then a bit later, my ip was banned automatically.

Why does it do that?

My current solution is the following:

NoStats=0 (0=off 1=on) When set site stats are completely disabled.

But again, im still not sure if this would get rid of the problem.

Thankyou for your time!

From the ftp session log everything looks normal.

By setting NoStats to off you're basically disabling the stats page in the site manager. FlashFXP doesn't keep track of connections, uploads, downloads, etc. This setting has no relationship to the ftp server, The ftp server doesn't know whether the client is keeping track of stats.

Perhaps you need to ask your friend to be more clear and explain exactly why he's banning you. I suspect there's another reason.

Thanks for the reply!

I asked him and now he said, that is because my client tries to make a SIZE command.

How do i get rid of that then?

The SIZE command is used to determine the file size or/and if a file still exists.

Most modern FTP clients use SIZE to get accurate results.
This is very commmon and cannot be disabled.

Hi again and thankyou very much for your help!

It seems like i've solved the problem.

I forgot to check this box in Site Manager: "Use APPE to resume download"

Now it doesn't make this size command constantly!
