- i can not provide exact versions but we have at least 50-60 clients today having the same issue mostly using
flashfxp .

- Clients can connect to FTP via commandline ftp utility (ftp.exe) or I.E but can not with their ftp clients.

Any suggestions will be appreciated

Are you using the latest version of Serv-U? v6.0.0.2

I have Serv-U v6.0.0.2 installed for testing and I'm not seeing any problems with connecting with FlashFXP on Windows XP.

The command line ftp client doesn't send the FEAT command, perhaps serv-u is trying to read a corrupted value or something for this command, you could try turning off FEAT as a test.

Site Manager > Options Tab > Uncheck "Site does not support FEAT command"

As a test I believe you can also manually send FEAT using ftp.exe, this might help you narrow down the problem.

can you provide logs from working session?

Ok;

Its also strange that we dont have these issues in our Linux Servers ProFTPD , but only Serv-u; with Ipswitch WS_FTP, CuteFTP and Flash FXP 3.1.12 (build 1075) BETA ...

Hmm.. Strangely when we issue FEAT Command

FEAT
211-Extension supported
CLNT

seems Serv-u does not support FEAT...

does Servu 6.0.0.2 implements FEAT? do you know that

thank you

btw : our serv-u versions are 6.0.0.0

serv-u does support FEAT since it's replying with a list of extensions
otherwise it would reply with 'command not understood'

you say no problem with proftpd, it support FEAT?
have you tried disabling FEAT on serv-u? also considered updating your server to the latest version?

maybe some firewall on your network is somehow conflicting with ftp sessions?

It seems like Serv-U is corrupted or something, Also you might considering upgrading it may resolve your problem.

This happens in all serv-u servers (actually 5) its very low probability that 5 of them corrupted at the same day...h there must be something else... but what can it be anyway i will try to upgrade to 6.0.0.2 and report it.

thanks

Upgraded to Servu 6.0.0.2 and I did several test ,

When FlashFXP issues FEAT Servu hangs...

Tested on W2k W2003, XP as the client using FlashFXP

I have reported this issue to Servu, as it seems they have a problem.

thanks

if it problem with servu and FEAT command, you can temporary disable it in site manager
