hi ppl
could anyone please help
i have been using flashfxp for a while now
but the last couple of weeks have been a right pain
i am only downloading @ 6kbps and not my average of 60kbps
i have spoken to my isp who have insured me that the fault is not with them and i have even tested my speeds and yepp all is good.

i am using windows xp pro
and flashfxp v.3.0.2
i down load from a very good source and have always had good speeds untill a few weeks ago.
i have turned off all firewalls and av's just incase
i have even deleted my hard drive
i have done all spyware and adware test
but still can't find a cause for why i am only getting 6kbps.....

please please help
i have not changed any of the settings in flashfxp

thanks in advance

Have you tried downloading from other sites as well to make sure it's not a problem with the route between you and this one specific site?

Have you checked to make sure the speed limit in FlashFXP is turned off? Preferences / Transfer Tab.

Apart from that I can't think of any other explanation for this within FlashFXP.

The above entries seems suspect to me ... update your adware/spyware programs and download another antivirus (Kaspersky Personal, for example). Take a look also at a network sniffer, like Ethereal (http://www.ethereal.com/).

I hate to say this , but ... ¿have you tried with other ftp clients or with the ftp client that windows has (ftp.exe)?.

If you experience the same slow speeds then you have a problem with your network connection or with your ISP. Can you browse at a normal speed?.

ady
03-02-2005, 01:40 PM
:o i have tried hrmm others
and it is the same
i can dowload from the web at normal speeds.
i have tried mirc and limewire (p2p) to test the speeds
and they are real slow too.
only good speed i can get is with ie

Hmm, maybe your ISP is filtering some ports; this could be a reason for your slow speeds. Another option could be a proxy-cache or something related.

Some time ago, here in Spain, the main ISP (Terra-Telefónica) put a nasty proxy-cache. The main objective was (in words of the the ISP) to "accelerate the rendering time of recently accesed web sites in order to give the customers a better service". In other words: save money and bandwith.

It was a nightmare: during some time the download speeds were too slow, some websites showed an ancient cached version of its contents, some programs started to malfunction, and so on ...

Have you received any answer from your ISP?.
