how to disable bak files

Hi..
I've looked everywhere for an answer to my question, so I'd really appreciate your help!
I don't want those BAK files to be created when I send files, but I just can't seem to disable them..
Please tell me how to do that, if you know.

Well there seems to be a good reason why I couldnt find any information about this problem on the flashfxp site.. another program (EditPlus) was creating those BAK files :)
