HIDDEN FILES (filename starts with ".")

* Netgear router
* Running firewall Netgear latest
* Running Antivirus Norton latest
* Network ADSL

I am connecting from my PC to a Modified XBOX/UNIX/LINUX. On the XBOX/UNIX/LINUX there are hidden files that start with a period ".filename" . How do I transfer those file onto my PC from those sources. FLASHFXP states that they don't exist.

did you enable show hidden files option?

actually when I enable show hidden files none of the files show up on my XBOX. But yes I have had that set in the past.

It seems that the Name and Target Window can see the file and its name. But the log only lists the directory. I can see the files in the FTP window though. Really driving me nuts trying to figure this one out.

What ftp/ftpd is running on the machines, i know of several that have ftpd side option to enable/disable showing hidden files through the ftp sessions.

As for the transferring .files, works fine for me on unix/bsd and windows ftpd, dont have/want an xbox though so no idea on that one.

These files are in my experience, for the most part just used by the ftpd for tracking/quota/message stuff and are useless elsewhere. Which is why they are hidden files.

Edit: have to ask, is ".*" or similar in your skiplist?

Nothing in skip list. Maybe this is just an XBOX problem. Not having problems from Linux and Unix really.
