FlashFXP is a client, Serv-U is a server, and made by a completely different company. Serv-U is not like a plugin, which can be added into FlashFXP, it must be run seperately.

You can check out Serv-U's website here (http://www.serv-u.com/).

Owning a website is not a necessary to run an ftp server.

Serv-U has very good instructions on their website and also in its help file to get a server up and running in just about any circumstance.

If ur running a router, make sure to pay special attention to that part of the tutorial...or nothing will work.

Peace 'n Chicken Grease....:D

I know ioftpd is good, but for a newbie,I prefer SERV-U since SERV-U's GUI is pretty friendly, and easy to setup than ioftpd.

Reading ioftpd tutorial makes simple the ioftpd configuration :)

Well, ioftpd is for the experts. If you don't believe that, check out the ioftpd official site, and even the coder of ioftpd doesn't recommand newbie to use ioftpd. If one is totally new to both ioftpd and serv-u,believe me,serv-u is more easiler to setup(I know ioftpd is good in other features, but it just has no GUI).

Yes. serv-u is better for newbye and it's a good ftp server, like bulletproof but ioftpd is more customizable and offer more "options" :)
