Slow transfer rate ?

My friend is trying to send me a movie. We both have download speeds of 1.5Mb/s with upload speeds of approx. 250kb/s.

Is there a way to get faster transfer rates than 30 kb/s? It'd take 10 hours to transfer one movie.

nope, 30K/s is the max speed for a 250kbps connection. If you were downloading it from a different faster source, then you might be able to utilize your 1.5mbit download speed :)

He can only upload at 30kb/s, so even if he send it somewhere else it wont be faster than that.
You might be able to download each individual file faster, but it will still be limited as a whole by his 30kb/s.
