Active/Passive has no effect to transfer speed.

From the Sites menu, first up all choose the Site Manager option this will open up the Site Manager window screen. Then click on the New Site option tab. This will open up the Create new site window screen. Then enter the site's name and click OK. After that it will back the Site Manager window with your site's name filled as per the option provided.

The general tab options are:
IP Address: ftp.example.com
Port: 21
User Name: FTP username
Password: FTP password
Remote Path: default folder on the server
Local Path: default folder on your computer
Notes: Anything you want (optional)

You can change the data connection mode via the Site Manager on the Options tab.

Data Connection Mode
Use global settings
Passive mode (PASV)
Active mode (PORT)

In most cases changing between passive and active mode will have little impact on the speed however some users have reported faster speeds using one over the other.

Using active mode can be more difficult than passive mode because it requires the FTP server to connect to your computer, this might require configuring your router and setting up port forwarding rules.

First add your private key in Key Manager with any name in first line, than choose your key in Public Key Authentication drop menu.
