Since upgrading to this version i can no longer upgrade. When installer gets to sites.dat i get "cannot install Sites.dat" error message. I have checked all permissions, i have full control. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

you either need to adjust permissions on your sites.dat file so allow your user account to write to it or reinstall flashfxp so that your sites.dat is located in your user profile dir, and not program files dir. :D

Thanks for the response, the permissions were set correct. Reinstalled to latest version which has worked. On windows 7 it places the site.dat file in C:\ProgramData (hidden dir)not my profile. Waiting on next update to see if it updates properly now.

Hello Andrew,

You can verify the location of your data files from within FlashFXP, main menu > Help > About > Info tab.

The default configuration is to use a shared all-user configuration and this location is usually
C:\ProgramData\FlashFXP\4\

The FlashFXP installer will check for the existence of the sites.dat and if not found it will install the default site list, Since you are performing an update installation the sites.dat file should/would be skipped.

It is not clear to me as to why it is telling you that it cannot install the file and then fails. I have not seen this error message before. As far as I can tell this shouldn't happen.

Were you able to manually install FlashFXP v4.2 downloaded from our website?
If not we can provide you with an alternative solution.

I uninstalled my original version and reinstalled the latest version with no problems
