It seems I have a similar problem.
Since I updated to version 4.1.8.1701 I can't download from my Humax PVR anymore. I can connect, but after 2 minuts looking at a blank directory, I get a "list error".
When I try to connect to my Humax PVR on my laptop with a prior version of FlashFXP, I have no problem connecting and downloading.
Any suggestions?

Hello,
What version of FlashFXP did you upgrade from?
Please include a copy of the session log for the working and non-working copies of FlashFXP.

I don't remember, since I've updated FlashFXP a couple of times before too. So whenever I get the "there is a new version available" message, I just click the update thingy.
Probably FlashFXP41_1654 (that is the latest I can find in my download directory, prior to 4.1.8.1701)
This setting worked in prior versions, but not in version 4.1.8.1701:
[R] Connecting to Humax -> IP=***.***.***.*** PORT=21
[R] Connected to Humax
[R] 220 Welcome to connection.
[R] USER HumaxFTP
[R] 331 Password required for humaxftp.
[R] PASS (hidden)
[R] 230 User logged in, proceed.
[R] SYST
[R] 215 UNIX system type.
[R] FEAT
[R] 500 Syntax error, command unrecognized.
[R] REST 100
[R] 502 Command not implemented.
[R] This server may not allow file resuming
[R] PWD
[R] 257 "/media" is current working dir.
[R] CWD /mnt/hd3/Video
[R] 250 File action is successful. Proceed.
[R] PWD
[R] 257 "/mnt/hd3/Video" is current working dir.
[R] TYPE A
[R] 200 Port command successful
[R] PASV
[R] 502 Command not implemented.
[R] List Error
[R] PASV mode failed, trying PORT mode.
[R] Listening on PORT: 54224, Waiting for connection.
[R] PORT ***,***,***,***,211,208
[R] 200 Port command successful
[R] LIST -al
In version 4.1.8.1701 I get the same, but then this happens:
[R] LIST -al
[R] Connection lost: Humax (Duration: 2 minutes 0 second / Idle: 2 minutes 0 second)
[R] List Error

In the working build how long does it normally take to list the directory, was it less than 2 minutes?
The connection is lost because the server is not responding to the "LIST -al" command within the allowed 2 min waiting for reply period.
Do you have a local firewall that might be blocking the FTP server from connecting to your computer? PORT mode connections are incoming from the FTP server.
Or is it possible that the FTP server is unable to reach your computer using the IP provided by the PORT command?
I will do some tests to make sure PORT mode is working as intended, it might be difficult to reproduce this issue without having access to a Humax PVR.

For some weird reason....it's working again
I have NO clue what so ever what happend.
I even used an older version (FlashFXP 4.0.0.1548) which I had tucked away somewhere, and that one worked perfectly fine. But version 4.1.8.1701 refused to even show me what was on the Humax for days now!
And now....it's working like nothing ever happend!
Geez....computers are like kids and pets. They are so sweet and cute when you are alone with them, but when there is company, they like to misbehave :D
Thanks for the help anyway. If FlashFXP is starting to misbehave again, I'll let you know.:)
