View Full Version : Skip files?

On one FTP I'm on, there's old versions of the files in directorys "old" and "_old". I do not want these files, but on another FTP I'm on they have the same structure and there I want the old versions of the files.
I've tried the Sites ---> Site Manager ---> <Choose the FTP in List> ---> Transfer-tab ---> Custom skip list-button
And there file in mask="old" and compare "Name of folder". But that doesn't work :confused:
What should I do?

Is the global skip list turned on?
Options > Filters > Skip list > "Enable skip list"
Is the per-site skip list turned on?
Site Manager > Options tab > "Use skip list"
The other factor is the "When to skip" setting in the filters > skip list, make sure you have it set to the desired value.
Automatic File Transfers
An automatic transfer occurs when FlashFXP en-queues nested files or folders within a folder that was manually queued.
Manual File Transfers
A manual transfer occurs when the user interactively queues or transfers an item.
Both
The skip list is applied to automatic and manual transfers.
I tested the per-site skip list and it worked as expected, I have "when to skip" set to both and attempted to manually transfer a folder named "old", in the status window it reported Skip [skiplist]: old
Update:
Make sure you add "old" and "_old"

I've got both those options turned on, but the only way I can make it work is from:
Tools ---> Selective Transfer
But like I said, I have to enable and disable then depending on which site I'm on...
EDIT: Just saw it was set to "Automatic Transfers" and not "Both" in the filters skip list.
I'll try later to see if it works. Can't try now, because there's a 25 files/day limit or I'll be banned...

If you were to queue the folder named "old" directly then it would not apply to "automatic transfers"
However if the folder named "old" is a sub folder within a folder named "download" and you queue "download" then "automatic transfer" would be be applied to the "old" folder and it would be skipped.
Please let us know when you get a chance to test this if you are still experiencing problems.

Sometimes I'm just stupid... Of course I don't have to wait for so I can download from my FTP again... I just have to test it at another site :D
I tried it now. It works!
It was because I hade the option "Automatic Transfer" and not "Both" (or "Manual Transfer") as I described in my last post...
Thanks a million! I'm so happy with FlashFXP and so happy I didn't buy Bulletproof FTP instead.
The thread can be locked.
EDIT: By the way. I had a problem with this posted .INI I couldn't solve, so I reinstalled it. You don't have to put any effort into it, but I wonder why I couldn't enable all messages in the status window so it was saved for next session.

As I said, the problem is solved, but I still wonder what was wrong. :confused:
