Don't laugh i have a Stats.dat file from 2006 that i need to be able to read (get the information out in a understandable format) I have no idea what version this was created with but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction of an app, hopefully freeware or at least non cripple ware as i'll only need it the one time.

in flashfxp go to Sites menu and then Import sites. there you can import your sites.dat and then export it into plain text .ftp file or just see what's in there.

the Stats.dat file contains the number of connections, uploads, downloads, etc, (statistics) it doesn't contain any other site related information such as the host, username, password.
You can open the file in any text editor, it uses an ini file style format.

wait, stats.dat or sites.dat?
I have a Sites.dat file that is 174 bytes and using QuickViewPlus i can see it has a single server entry in there but i also have a Stats.dat 2.97 kb which does list lots more servers but they also have these kind of entires followed by lots of numbers
TC=
LC=
XU=
FD=
XD=
FU=
I'm hoping this file can be decoded in a way to give me my old login information or am i barking up the wrong end of the tree?

I'm afraid the login information would be in the sites.dat file.
TC = Total number of connections
LC = Date/time of last connection
XU = total number of bytes uploaded
FD = number of files downloaded
XD = total number of bytes downloaded
FU = number of files uploaded
