Hi,

FlashFXP is a great discovery for me because of so many of the Tools menu features that I've never had available before in other FTP clients.

THe "Find File on FTP Server..." option is proving VERY helpful in locating and removing very old website file backups. From the search results window I can directly delete old files. Howeve, I am unable to delete FOLDERS directly from w/in the search results window.

Can anybody please explain the most efficient way to use the "Find Files..." tool option to locate folders, and delete them directly? For example, I have been trying to locate all folders with the word "backup" in them ( of which there are very many ), then delete them.

Thank you,

Another example...

I need to locate all folders in the client uploads area with size ZERO, and delete them... there are hundreds, and locating them is easy. Now how can I can configure FlashFXP to allow me to delete them directly from the "Find Files..." results window?

Thank you,

Ximbalo

just highlight them, right click and select delete..

*smiles* Yes, of course, that IS what I have been doing, but they don't delete. The results window just flashes, and then the folders are still there. As I was saying, individual files delete fine, but folders will not delete directly from w/in the "Find Files..." results window.

Thank you,

It would appear that the folder delete in the ftp search is non-recursive so it will only remove empty folders.

In the next couple days I will update this delete method to support recursive folder deleting, If your currently a registered user I can give you access to the beta as soon as its ready for testing, otherwise you'll need to wait for the next public release that contains this update.
