View Full Version : upload problem I think it is my firewall plz advice

Hello,
I have this problem when I upload files (ex: 200 kb) I see the yellow progress bar filled quickly and the upload speed decreases until it reaches 0 kb/s then I have to wait 4 min or more until I can upload the next file
this problem occur only with upload , and I disabled my router firewall and my kaspersky firewall also I made a port map in router without any result
please advice

try to disable pasv mode and see if that problem still happen.

I tried to create another user also without any result, any advice ?

post session log with with pasv mode disabled.
what router are you using?

my router is speed touch st585 v6 I made the 21 port forward to my pc and disabled the router firewall

forwarding port 21 to your pc means YOU are running ftp server...is that what you have?!
log that you posted does not show any errors

no I dont have FTP server I just thought I have to forward this port , and flashfxp did not say any error the problem with the delay 5 min or maybe more until file uploaded , error appear with other software I tried today like cuteftp

press F6, data connection, limit local port range to....pick some port range, ~500ports is good. then forward those same ports in your router to your computer.
make sure pasv mode is disabled and see if you get same errors again.

the problem is the same
I think it is a permanent harm to my current installation of windows caused by the firewall software the problem I cant reinstall new windows too many software I use and no time I have to install , config options and setting licenses it will take a week from me - I just hate windows

the way ftp protocol works, switching off pasv mode completely changes the way data connections are established. so it's impossible to be "the same" problem.
but without seeing actual session log we can only guess.

my HOST nor my ISP dont have any problems I tried today on another os (win xp x64) and it work fine !!
any advice ?

you tried on another os in exactly same setup as before?
in your screenshot i see you are using cFosSpeed. try to uninstall it and see if that makes any difference
