I am a web developer and I need to frequently download and upload files from host servers recently my only internet provider changed my IP to a virtual IP and host did not like that and keep saying "your ip is 192.168.2.240 I only connect to 84.36.5.10" and any uload will always be failed

prior to that I was not able to even list the my host root folder and give me the same error message but after I checked the option "use site ip for passive mode" I was able to see the directory list

is there any option or any thing I can do to make the upload work - my main problem that I will not be able to change my internet provider now and dial-up is so slow on large amount of files

thanks

we need to see status log with the error when you enable pasv mode...
with PORT mode your client could've been sending your virtual ip, which is why you could've gotten that error.
however with PASV mode you are asking server where to connect...so theoretically server shouldn't be aware of any virtual ips..
