View Full Version : SSL Proxy

Hi,

I'm using the latest version of FlashFXP.
I'm trying to connect to an FTP which requires SSL. I can just use the default port, but bandwidth is restricted on it, so I am trying to connect via an SSL proxy.

The proxy has been tested with IE and FF, and so definitely works, but when I try it in FlashFXP, it doesn't have it.

Can anyone explain the problem please.

Thanks

Whoops, sorry

* FlashFXP v3.4, beta 5, Unregistered
* OS: WinXP Home
* Running behind NAT/router: Yes, but not sure of details due to no access
* Running firewall Mcafee Firewall
* Running Antivirus Norton AV 2006
* Network Private connection

* FTP server: Private, so best not mention.

what the heck is "private connection"
when we're asking for ftp server, we are not asking for login info or any such junk, but rather what ftp server software it is running.

"but when I try it in FlashFXP, it doesn't have it."
explain you mean by that.

The FTP doesn't say what software it is running off, so I couldnt tell you.
When I say FlashFXP doesn't have it, I mean, it just wont connect to it (the proxy)

obvious question but are you giving flashfxp all the correct info about your proxy?
do you get any error msgs in status log?

You don't need a SSL proxy for this a regular proxy will work. Normally people use SSL proxy when the ftp client don't support SSL directly. A HTTP or SOCKS proxy would probably work best.
