Fxp speed change?

Ever since i started blocking ports in norton antivirus(mirc worms,trojans)my download speeds gotten alot slower. Im only getting 50kbs now when i use to get 500kbs. I also tried it on my other pc that doesn't have norton and its downloading at 50kbs too. So today i tried ftprush same site same file and i get 500kbs any know know what wrong?

I just tried download from the same site a dvd rar file thats 50mbs and it was goin almost 600kbs but when i download a 4mb mp3 its goes back to 60kbs
both are on the same site the site does have different slaves for file but i never had theis problem before

doesnt sound like "ports" problem. Probably a routing issue ...
