Pc to Pc transfers without a server. Is it possible?

Is it possible to use FlashFXP to transfer files from my Pc to a friends Pc?
We're not on a Local network (obviously).

Like a direct download/upload.

FTP is a CLIENT-SERVER type protocol.
just like with WEB, you use WEB browser(client) to connect to WEB server.
you use FTP client to connect to FTP server.
FlashFXP is an FTP client...
