Tried the "Search" button but did'nt find what i was looking for.

I have a dynamic IP and the site i'm tryin to connect is private, username is sticked to an IP address so the admin must change my IP address in the FTP server's config each time i want to connect to it.

Is there a way to redirect my IP address to a static IP address in flashFXP ?

I can easily do this on my ftp server, but i don't know if it is possible to do it in an ftp client like flashfxp.

I hope i was clear...

Thanks in advance

Is there a way to redirect my IP address to a static IP address in flashFXP ?what you are asking to do is impossible. not only with FlashFXP, but at all.
what you can do is sign up for dynamic dns (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_dns) service, so you'll have some hostname (ie rnoB.dynamic_host.com) always resolve to YOUR ip.
then that site's admin instead of checking for ip address, will be checking for hostname.

No offense to MxxCon, but I think rnoB's question was misinterpreted. What you're trying to do is a reverse lookup. There's some information here (http://www.tech-faq.com/reverse-dns.shtml), as well as a vague outline of what you'll need to do.

from what i understand, he connect to a site that checks his username to ip address on record.
but since he has dynamic ip, site admin constantly have to update that record to his current ip.
so i suggested is he get one of those dynamic dns accounts..

so you'll have some hostname (ie rnoB.dynamic_host.com) always resolve to YOUR ip.

My understanding is that he needs the exact opposite of that to happen, he needs to have his IP 'resolve' to a hostname. I looked into a similar setup for irc, but eventually came to the conclusion that it isn't possible with the IP allocated to me by my ISP, because they run the name servers for it.
