Download Language Package (https://secure.inicom.net/portal/?action=download&f=16) (includes English Template)
Download Translation Editor (https://secure.inicom.net/portal/?action=download&f=18)

NEW INSTALL

1. Open the TsiLang Files Editor
2. Load the English.sib located in the "LangPack.zip" file
3. Select the first form (TFrmABM), then select Captions
4. From the menu Tools, select Add Language
5. Type in the language name, if dutch, type "dutch"
(A new column will appear to the right of the English Columns)

6. Enter the translated text for each English phrase

(when you've completed the translation or when you're done for now)
7. From the menu, File, select Save As, and save the file as your new language using english characters.

*The Captions, Collections, Dialogs, DisplayLabels, Hints, Multilines, Other, Strings all need to be translated.

*Don't translate any character prefixed with %...this text is then later replaced in code.
For example "The folder "%s" does not exist." the %s is replaced with the folder name ("My Folder") and becomes "The folder "My Folder" does not exist."

*You'll notice the ^ character used in some of the text.
For example "%s Folder^, %s File^, %s Total^". The ^ character is converted in code to include "s" if the word is plural (more than one). If the plural translation for the word is different then the best solution is to just leave out the ^

*You'll notice the first letter of some text is underlined. This is for quick keyboard access, and is created by starting the word with an &. We recommend you follow the English translation and prepend your translation with a & when the English translation does.

*You'll notice that some of the text is duplicated, You can manaully translate the duplicates or you can add your translation to the dictionary, once the translated text is in the dictionary it can be used to fill in all the duplicated entries.

*Please try to keep the text case similar to the original.

APPLYING UPDATED LANGUAGE TEMPLATE

1. Open the TsiLang Files Editor
2. Load the English.sib located in the "LangPack.zip" file
3. From the menu, File, select Merge
4. Select the file containing your translated language.
5. From the Merge dialog select your language to merge.
6. Click Next
7. "Skip superfluous entries" should be checked
8. Click Finish
9. Now save the template as a new name or overwrite your existing translation file.

Looking at the new template you will see some new translation entries that previously didn't exist in the old template.

Please check every form for new translations, the bulk of the new text is located in
TFrmMain > Strings

One of the new strings is "Language Translation: Charles DeWeese" Please replace my name with your name. This will appear in the about box of FlashFXP.

Is there a dialog in the language files editor to see the progress of the translation ?
I would say the french translation is approximately 90% complete.

I will mail you the few sentences I have problems with soon.

Thats great! Can you please send me a private message with your email address. Once you finish I will send you a compiled copy of the translation along with an updated copy of FlashFXP for further tweaking the language file.

I don't think there is. I gave rough estimates based on what I saw.

The translation template isn't used directly with FlashFXP, You need to send me the template and then I will convert it and provide you with a copy of it and FlashFXP for tweaking.

bigstar: anyone has started a german translation? If not, I can do it. By the way, can you check what happened to my beta-tester access? thanks.

Since I have not found any traces of people working on a german translation, I have recently started it. I expect the full translation to be finished within a few hours. So if any GERMAN is reading this, I'm already working on it (v1.1) and I will be glad to work together with bigstar even if there are any bugs. I'm familiar with application design and german IT language so expect this to be as professional as it can be. ;-) I'll contact bigstar once it is finished for extensive testing.

Best Regards.

PS. I will be available for german language updates on newer versions. Just ask. Also, I have started a new thread that will report on status of the german translation.

Spanish Translation (ES - Spain) with 1.1 update applied.

Status: 85% (TFrmSpace - Captions).

It'll be finished on the next week. Bigstar, I considered this as the first 'draft'. I would like to review it line per line later, trying to improve some translations. Anyway, it'll be awesome if I could see the translation applied to FlashFXP as soon as possible, in order to (mainly) check space constraints.

About the translation: although i considered it as a 'draft' it doesn't means that is a 'poor' translation. When I start any translation project I always translate 'in context' instead word by word. Anyway there's always room to improve a translation. I only hope that more and more spanish-talking people could try (and understand) FlashFXP with my little contribution :).

One more thing: forget about my english writing skills. I know that i'm terrible when I start talking/typing something on english. My translation skills are much, much, better, trust me ;).

Well it's not something i made up myself, but it's the most common thing to use in other clients as well. But if you have a better translation for "to transfer", any suggestion is more than welcome.
