A real n00b question i think but i can't find the right answer for it.
When i add a user he get' s by default the flag 3.
What is this type of flag and what can you do with this flag?
I actualy thought there where only flags like M,G,L,F,f etc.
Not only do i see the flag 3 but also 1 and H etc, but unable to trace what there function is.

For example i want a specific user or group to up and download, rename, NOT dell, let them do some site cmd's and maybe also some speed settings but how do i do that, anyone?

Try and read te docs a little better

http://www.inicom.net/pages/en.ioftpd-documentation.php?s=7

M = Master
T = Able to login through Telnet
H = Able to login through HTTP
1 = Siteop
3 = normal user
G = Gadmin

I use 'N' for nuker, so i give a nuker flag +N. Then change [Ftp-SITE-Permissions]:
nuke = 1MN
unnuke = 1MN

So that flag N can also nuke and unnuke

Hope it helped, otherwise i think you know where you can find me on irc :p

Thx Coffee,

I have read that link you posted but somethings didn't fell on there place for me.
This type of server is for me not the way i'm used to work with software.
I see so many lines,options etc that i not get it the first time :(

Before i played with serv-u and now with ioFTPD, the only thing i miss is a status icon on the bottom right of your windows to see that your server is up and running :(

When the scripts come back theres 1 for a trayicon.
From memory (only used it briefly) though its there all the time io running or not if you hover the mouse over it I think it shows if its running. A user of it should be able to confirm.

It's said the flag 3 is just a placeholder to make users without any meaningful flags have at least 1 flag, and '3' is just from "darkOn3"...
