Thanks for getting back to me.

yes, I remember reading a few times in other posts about the new line
at the end of the vfs files (I am only using one at the moment) but I am
sorry to report I already made sure there is a newline in every vfs file
even in those I am currently not using.

Anything else you can think of? Or anything I can provide to make it
easier for you to distinguish the source of this resolve issue?

-----[EDIT1]--

I just found an IOFTPD.ini and ioBanana.ini from my backups, after various attempts that works like it did before. That ties the nature of this problem to one of those two ini files. I will make a byte-by-byte comparison and post what I find.
Also I stumbled upon another entry in the knowledge base about VFS files, private dirs and symlinks. It tells in one paragraph: Never use tabs between dir specific permissions and VFS path, only spaces! This could apply here, too.

Anyway, it may be a bit early to call this fixed, but its a good start .

This proves again:
ALWAYS make backups of your files. Like this time nothing can replace it in such moments! In WinRAR check open shared files and let it add a date to your fixed archive, this way you only have to double click your shortcut to make a backup. It's one second work but it pays off!
