If you really believe it's to do with your settings, then you could try the following...

-Backup your FlashFXP configuration files, then delete the originals.
-Re-install FlashFXP over the top of itself - this will put the default settings back.
-Once you've done what you need to do, just copy the backup files back over.

Obviously, don't do all this whilst Flash is running.
