- Background tasks. This should allow users to continue interacting with the remote server. Our suggestion is to make this an per time choice/option (though the user should be able to configure a default behavior in the preferences).

- Delayed tasks. This would allow the user to delay the task until the user activates them or on a specified time (eg: allow for downloading during the night).
