Ah, i think i see what you mean. You're assuming i use only one slave per directoroy. That is not the case however.

With DrFTPD, LIST transfers always go to the master.

And all files are striped on different slaves(/nodes). I put a flowchart on http://drftpd.mog.se that shows this. One slave per file.
