Please make sure you're connected to the internet and FlashFXP is allowed access in your firewall.
If you connect via a proxy please make sure your proxy configuration is setup in FlashFXP.
Which specific build of v4.0 RC2 did you install?
You wont be able to retrieve your key via the customer portal until its generated, the only way it can currently be generated is via FlashFXP performing the key upgrade.
During installation you need to select custom installation to select a non-standard data folder location.
