with 703 it still worked

same here on 730:

[L] SITE CHATTR +l "linktotest" "/MVID/test"
[L] 200 'CHATTR' Command successful.
[L] CWD linktotest
[L] 250 CWD command successful.
[L] PWD
[L] 257 "/linktotest" is current directory.
