I am not sure what the difference is between the two methods.. (quick connect or using the actual site manager).. in terms of why you would want to use qc over sm.

QC: Hit F8, select from history, hit connect.
SM: Hit F4, select site, hit connect.

In both cases the Remote Path box is on the main/initial tab, so its no harder to edit one over the other.
